Read this before you call
You call one number. A local handyman company does the work.
The Mount Vernon Handyman is a referral service. We take your request, and we pass it to the local handyman company we work with in the Mount Vernon area. We do not perform the work ourselves, and we would rather you heard that from us now than found out later.
What we do give you is one place to start: a phone number, a form, and a written process that runs the same way every time.
You
Describe the job
By phone or through the request form.
Us
Pass it along
Your request goes to the partner company covering the Mount Vernon area.
The partner company
Visit, estimate, repair
They measure the job, give you the estimate and do the work.
The punch list
Five steps, in the order they happen
Step 1
Send a request
Call 360-813-6743 or use the online form. Say what is wrong and where it is on the house. A photo helps.
Step 2
Take measurements
Someone visits the house, looks at the job in place and measures it, so the estimate is built on the real thing.
Step 3
Approve budget
You get a detailed estimate with transparent pricing. Nothing starts until you have said yes to it.
Step 4
Start project
Work begins on the agreed date, with updates along the way if anything behind the wall changes the plan.
Step 5
Finish on schedule
A final walk-through of the work, then the site is cleaned up before anyone leaves.
Five things
Have these ready when you call
None of it has to be exact. The more you can say on the first call, the sooner the visit and the measurements can be booked.
- Which room or which wall
- Roofline, siding, deck, kitchen, hallway. Where the problem sits decides who needs to look at it.
- One photo
- A phone picture of the soft board, the stained ceiling or the dead fixture saves a round of questions.
- Rough measurements
- A guess at the length of the fence run or the size of the drywall hole is plenty. The real numbers come at the visit.
- Your materials, or theirs
- You can buy the materials yourself, or ask for them to be supplied. Say which when you call.
- How urgent it is
- A slow drip and an active roof leak are different calls. Say which one you have and the request is prioritised.
What you can hold it to
Four promises about the process, in plain words

An estimate before work starts
The estimate comes first, after the visit and the measurements. You approve the budget before a tool is picked up.
Transparent pricing, no surprises
The estimate is detailed, so you can see what the number is made of. If something behind a wall changes the plan, you hear about it along the way.
Materials yours or supplied
Supply your own, or have them supplied for you. It is your choice and you make it at the start.
Urgent repairs moved up
Tell us it cannot wait and the request is prioritised.
Prices are not published here because every job is different. The estimate is where the number lives, and it arrives before the work does.
